Traffic resumes along Siddhartha, Pahalmansingh Swar highways

WALING: Traffic has resumed along the Siddhartha Highway, which was obstructed due to landslides following incessant rainfall.

The two-way traffic at Pokhara-Syangja road section under the Siddhartha Highway has come into operation from 10:30 am, said Spokesperson at the District Police Office, Syangja, Rajendra Prasad Adhikari.

The landslide had occurred at Bhalupahad of Phedikhola rural municipality-2 in the district at 3:30 am today, added Adhikari. The landslide debris was removed with the help of the Department of Roads and Putalibazaar municipality.

With the resumption of traffic, hundreds of vehicles stranded along the road section following the landslide have headed towards their destinations.

Meanwhile, Pahalmansingh Swar highway, obstructed for the past three days due to landslide at Silgadhi-Sanphe road section, has resumed. Landslide at Uditola of Doti along the Silgadhi-Sanphe section had obstructed the traffic along this section.

Vehicles and passengers stranded along the road section have now headed towards their destinations after the landslide was cleared on Wednesday night.

Similarly, activities were underway to remove landslide occurred at different places along KI Singh highway, connecting Syaule of Dadeldhura to Dipayal of Doti. RSS
