NC holding ward convention in Kathmandu today

More than 30,000 active members participating



KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) is holding ward convention in Kathmandu district today.

A meeting of the Kathmandu District Working Committee of the NC on September 17 decided to start the ward convention on Tuesday.

The NC Kathmandu President Sabuj Bania has informed that the ward convention is being held as the party’s Central Election Committee (CEC) has finalized the active membership and sent it to the district.

There are 10 federal constituencies and 20 province constituencies in Kathmandu. There are 138 wards in Kathmandu with 11 local units including Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

In Kathmandu, the NC has more than 30,000 active members.

The Congress has scheduled the rural / municipal convention on September 25, the provincial assembly regional convention on September 28, and the regional convention of the House of Representatives / district convention with only one constituency on October 1.
Similarly, the district convention with more than one constituency is scheduled to be held on October 4, the provincial convention from October 27 to 29 and the 14th General Convention from November 25 to 29.
