KATHMANDU: Nepal has announced its squad for the ICC World Cup League Two one-day triangular series in Oman.
According to sources, head coach Dave Whatmore has introduced four newcomers after Paras Khadka retired from international cricket. Gulshan Jha who had performed well for Nepal Police Club in the Mayors Cup in Kathmandu has also been included in the team.
Fast bowler Gulshan has been given a shot in the ODI team for the first time for his nice performance in the training camp.
Likewise, Kushal Bhurtel and Ashif Sheikh have been given a shot in the ODI team when Kamal Singh Aire and Sahib Alam could not secure their place in the team.
Nepal will play two ODI series against Papua New Guinea national cricket team (PNG) after training there for a few days. The main event will take place on the 5th and 8th of September, 2021.
The Nepalese squad will then compete in a triangular series against Oman and the United States.
Nepal team comprises of Captain Gyanendra Malla, Dipendra Singh Aire, Kushal Bhurtel, Asif Sheikh, Gulshan Jha, Arif Sheikh, Kushal Malla, Binod Bhandari, Karan KC, Sompal Kami, Sandeep Lamichhane, Pawan Saraf, Abhinash Bohra, Rohit Poudel, Sushan Bhari, Sharad Bheswakar and Bikram Sob.
