Senior actor Thapa succumbs to COVID-19

KATHMANDU: Senior actor Shambhu Thapa, who is popularly known as Bhakhate, has passed away. He was 64.

Thapa breathed his last in the course of treatment at Patan Hospital at 4:40 am today, informed artist Jeevan Thapa. He had been hospitalized one month ago after being infected with COVID-19.

He had performed in various tele-serials including Halka Ramailo, Golmal, Bhadragol, Maha Sanchar, Meri Bassai.

He is survived by his wife, one daughter and a son.
