RPP chair warns former PM Bhattarai not to speak insultingly about faith and religion

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) chairman Kamal Thapa has warned former Prime Minister and federal council chairman of the Janata Samajwadi Party Dr. Baburam Bhattarai not to speak insultingly about people’s faith and religion.

Replying to Dr. Bhattarai’s tweet on Wednesday, RPP Chairman Thapa urged the former to recall the criminal activities he committed during the ‘Maoist movement’ and advised him not to talk too lightly on serious issues related to the people’s faith and religion.

Earlier, retweeting a message depicting India’s Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath offering milk to the Ganges, Bhattarai had shared “Faith is a dangerous thing. It makes you throw away milk and drink urine.”

Bhattarai had shared the tweet with the status on his wall saying that it was broadcast by his Indian classmate. In response, Thapa elaborated on what Bhattarai did during the People’s War.

Once classmates, during early college days, both Bhattarai and Thapa are actively engaged in social media.
