Three, including Jwala Sangroula, remanded to 3 days custody

KATHMANDU: Jwala (Tika) Sangroula and two others, who had been arrested Sunday for assaulting a woman in public, have been sent to three days custody for investigation.

Sangroula, Himal Upadhyaya and Sharmila Waiba were produced before the District Administration Office, Kathmandu on Monday.

SSP Ashok Singh of Teku Metropolitan Police Range said further investigation into them was started with the permission from the district administration office.

Police had detained them on the basis of a complaint lodged by Khusbu Ghimire, a central member of National Youth Federation, a sister wing of ruling CPN-UML. Ghimire was attacked by Sangroula’s group while the former was in custody of Gaushala Police Station.

Sangroula and her group are accused of thrashing Ghimire,  showing indecent behavior and even assaulting the police.
