COVID-19 vaccines transported to Manang via chopper

KATHMANDU: The  Ministry of Health and Population has arranged to airlift COVID-19 vaccines to Manang.

According to the chief of district health office Manang, Badri Acharya, the vaccines were dispatched to different places in the district via chopper as road transportation remains obstructed due to floods triggered by monsoon rain.

Now, the vaccines have been safely stored at temporary Health Post at Naso Rural Municipality -4 in the district.

The health office stated that 6,000 locals have received first dose of the vaccines while 1,900 locals received second doses in the district.

Acharya added that helicopter ferried the vaccines in Naar and Phu rural municipalities on Monday. He added that the health office was aware of possible obstruction to be caused by the natural disasters in course of vaccination in remote areas, and hence adopting alternative measures including precaution.
