India sees sharp decline in COVID-19 cases



NEW DELHI: Southern neighbor India has witnessed a sharp decline in the number of COVID-19 infection cases, of late.

India recorded 53,009 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, taking the caseload to 29,934,361.

Earlier, the daily infection cases had reached up to 400,000.

Currently, 709,668 are undergoing treatment at various isolation centers and hospitals. Meanwhile, 28,836,529 have returned home after treatment.

Similarly, the number of deaths from the coronavirus in India has crossed the 388,100-mark.

With 1,113 deaths in a single day, the number of deaths from the virus has reached 388,164, according to the latest figures collated by the Worldometers.

Broken out in Wuhan City of China in December 2019, the coronavirus has killed 3,881,445 and infected 179,239,660 globally until the filing of this news.
