CPN-UML informs President’s Office about action against 26 lawmakers supporting NC Prez Deuba

KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML has notified the President’s Office, stating it will take action against 26 lawmakers who supported the opposition alliance’s claim on government by proposing Sher Bahadur Deuba the Prime Minister.

A source, close to UML Chair and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, said they sent a notice to the President’s Office stating to take action as the lawmakers violated the party discipline. “We have informed that action will be taken against them for violating the party discipline,” the source said.

Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba Friday handed over the signatures of 149 lawmakers to the President’s Office to form government as per Article 76 (5) of the constitution. Among the 149 lawmakers’ signatures, 26 are from Madhav Kumar Nepal’s faction of CPN-UML.
