RPP Chair Thapa says parties making mockery of federal republic system

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Kamal Thapa has said the ruling party and the opposition alliance were making a mockery of the federal republic system.

Taking to Twitter Friday, Thapa demanded disqualifying both claims to form a majority government pursuant to Article 76 (5) as both did not have strong grounds to win the vote of confidence in the parliament.

He also stated that both sides staking claim to lead the government had resorted to wrong means and forgery. He lashed out at them for defaming the constitutional provision.

Thapa also called on the President to declare mid-term polls by disqualifying both claims submitted Friday.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and the opposition alliance proposing Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba staked separate claims to form the government today.
