Karnali govt allocates Rs 983 million to prevent and control COVID-19 pandemic

KARNALI: Karnali Province government has allocated Rs 983 million to prevent, control, treatment and response of coronavirus pandemic.

Secretary at the Social Development Ministry, Krishna Prasad Kapri said that Rs 730 million has been allocated at all public health service offices and hospitals under the Ministry to corona pandemic.

Similarly, Kapri added that Rs 118 million has been allocated for COVID-19 management with oxygen and Rs 138 million to control corona through Health Service Directorate.

He stated, “We have allocated Rs 121.220 million budget at 33 local levels and strategic hospitals of Karnali Province for the prevention and management of corona.”

Kapri mentioned that 176 community nurses, 58 COVID health workers, and 183 doctors, nurses and paramedics health workers under contract quota have been mobilized for management of required human resource in the Province.

Arrangement of budget has been made for establishment of ICU and operation of ventilator in all districts of the Province and necessary training related to ICU treatment was imparted to doctors and nurses.

Secretary Kapri shared that Karnali Province government has made arrangement of budget at Health Service Directorate, Public Health Service Office and hospitals in order to purchase oxygen cylinders, oxygen concentrators, oxygen plant, power backup and remdisiver medicine as well as other health supplies keeping health safety of Karnali folks in mind.
