UML’s Nepal-Khanal faction holding meeting at Singha Durbar

Maoist leaders Dev Gurung and Barsha Man Pun also at meeting



KATHMANDU: Leaders close to CPN-UML’s disgruntled faction led by party senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal have gathered at Singha Durbar, Kathmandu to discuss about the latest political development.

According to sources, Khanal-Nepal faction of UML has gathered to discuss about their strategy against the Prime Minister KP Oli and President’s latest move that has further worsened the political situation in the country.

Prior to the 30-day period PM Oli received to garner vote of confidence in the parliament, the President called for the formation of a government under Article 76 (5) on Thursday on the recommendation of PM.

The 21-hour deadline the President gave the political parties to claim for the next government is expiring at 5 PM Thursday evening.

UML leaders including Madhav Kumar Nepal, Bhim Rawal, Jeevan Ram Shrestha, Ram Kumari Jhankri, Birodh Khatiwada, Jhapat Rawal and more than 20 other lawmakers have reached Singha Durbar for the discussion.

Also, Maoist Center leaders Dev Gurung and Barsha Man Pun have also reached Singha Durbar to participate in the meeting of leader Nepal faction.

As time goes on, the parties have intensified unilateral and multilateral discussions seeking a way out from the ongoing political crisis.
