JSP PP meeting ends without concrete decision

KATHMANDU: A parliamentary party (PP) meeting of the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP), a key player in the formation of a new government, has ended without transient outcome.

The PP meeting held at Singha Durbar, discussed the latest political developments including the President’s call to stake claim of the governmet, said party’s  Central Council Chairman Mahantha Thakur.

“The PP meeting discussed the latest political developments including the President’s call to come up with the claim of the government. It did not take any decisons to support either parties for a new power-sharing,” said Thakur emerging from the meeting.

A few days ago, the JSP, in a press statement, had stated that it would be ready to take over the helm if the situation called for.

President Bidya Bhandari has given the 5 pm deadline today to the Members of Parliament (MPs) to stake claim of the majority government pursuant to Article 76 (5) of the Constitution.
