Opposition parties discuss impeaching President

Meeting at Sher Bahadur Deuba's residence, Budhanilakantha



KATHMANDU: A meeting of the opposition parties is underway at the residence of Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba in Budhanilkantha.

Senior leader of the CPN-UML Madhav Kumar Nepal is also attending the meeting to discuss issues, including impeaching President Bidya Devi Bhandari.

President Bhandari has been alleged of favoring Prime Minister KP Oli in his “unconstitutional” steps.

The NC is holding the discussions with the opposition parties soon after the meeting of its office bearers held Friday morning.

Chairman of the Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” and Chairman of the Janata Samajbadi Party Upendra Yadav are also attending the discussion.

It should be noted that President Bhandari has asked political parties to form a new government.
