Maoist Center holding SC meeting today; to discuss withdrawal of support to govt

KATHMANDU: The Standing Committee (SC) meeting of the CPN (Maoist Center) is taking place on Wednesday. The meeting has been scheduled for 1 pm.

The Maoist Center’s SC meeting held Tuesday at the central party office in Paris Danda concluded with the next sitting scheduled for today.

The party did not, however, make any formal decision at the meeting yesterday regarding withdrawal of support given to the incumbent government led by Prime Minister KP Oli.

Following the meeting, leader and party Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha shared that the Maoist Center would not support the Oli-led government and the formality of withdrawing support would be discussed in the next meeting.

According to the leader, efforts are underway to form a new government by toppling the existing government.
