KATHMANDU: The Netherlands and Malaysia are locking horns in a cricket match under the T20 Tri-Nation Series in the capital on Wednesday.

To be held at TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, the Netherlands is aiming to book a berth in the finals clinching a victory in today’s match. The match will begin at 12:15 pm.

The Netherlands is in the second position with four points from three matches.  Faced a defeat at the hands of Nepal in the first match, the Netherlands had defeated Malaysia by 15 runs in the second match and Nepal by three wickets in the third match.

Malaysia is at the bottom of the points table. It lost to the Netherlands by 15 runs in the first match and to Nepal by nine wickets in the second match. It is unlikely to reach the finals even if it won today’s match.

Nepal is atop the points table with four points from three matches.

Nepal had defeated the Netherlands in the first match and Malaysia in the second match by equal nine wickets. It will play the final match of the league stage tomorrow.

Top two teams selected based on the round-robin format will vie for the tile. The final match will take place on Saturday.
