One million doses of Covishield vaccine arrive from India



KATHMANDU: One million doses of vaccine produced by the Serum Institute of India arrived at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) today from an Air India flight.

The government had signed an agreement with the Serum Institute on February 17 to purchase 2 million doses of vaccine.

The first batch of vaccines has come under the same agreement. The second batch of vaccines likely to arrive within March 7, according to the Ministry of Health.

Vaccines from India will be stored in the cold room at Teku from the airport. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the vaccination campaign will be distributed from the district health offices through the state health supply management center to the vaccination centers across the country.
