KATHMANDU: The Nepal Army (NA) has made internal preparations to deploy 10,000 troops a year to UN peacekeeping missions.
The national army has already signed an agreement with the United Nations for this, media reports said on Sunday.
According to NA, Nepal will be the country in the world to deploy the highest number of troops in peacekeeping missions when the agreement is fully implemented.
At present, 5,129 soldiers are deployed in peacekeeping missions every year.
NA Spokesperson Santosh Ballav Poudel stated that the national army is preparing to deploy 10,000 personnel in peacekeeping missions at a time.
