KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli has alleged the Prachanda-Nepal faction for what he said “performing drama” in the streets in the pretext of political stability.

In a gesture of sarcasm, PM Oli said, “We are not accustomed to waving black flags and black balloons like in Perisdanda. We believe in waving red flags and head towards prosperity and development.”

Without naming, he compared the leaders of the dissident faction of NCP with characters and the plot of a cinema, which he claimed is all fake even though it looks real.

“There are elements accustomed to screening movie-like activities,” PM Oli said at a program in Kathmandu on Thursday.

Saying that his party is in favor of moving towards prosperity, and giving equal rights and opportunities to the people, PM Oli said, “We do not believe in bias and prejudice.”

He also went on to criticize the dissident faction led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Madhav Kumar Nepal for trying to create obstacles in the government’s endeavor towards prosperity.

“However, they never cooperated with the government to accomplish its vision,” he added.

Prime Minister Oli also came down heavily on Prachanda for working to uplift the status of his relatives, including daughters, son-in-law, among others.

“What about the sons and daughters of those common people who sacrificed their lives during the decade-long insurgency just to uplift your status?” he asked Prachanda alleging him of being a staunch supporter of nepotism.

PM Oli also urged journalists to respect the seniors while choosing the right word while writing news.

“Make sure that you do not forget patriotism and nationalism while writing and disseminating news and information,” he urged journalists asking them not to fall prey to gluttony.

“Nationalism cannot be fake,” he claimed while raising the issue of an Indian journalist’s advocacy to change the name of Mt Everest, “We don’t have to worry about such an issue.”

He also urged journalists to refrain from practicing ‘yellow journalism’ or else it will ruin the country.

Oli further said he was fighting a political battle to defend the constitution and democracy.

“We are fighting a political battle for a peaceful, legitimate, democratic method and path to nationalism, democracy, livelihood, social justice, and equality, defending the constitution we have brought, defending the federal democratic republic, and not allowing the democratic system to crumble,” he said.
