SC Bench affected due to Nepal Bar Association’s protests

KATHMANDU: The hearing of the cases at the Supreme Court (SC) has been affected due to the two-month-long protest of the Nepal Bar Association (NBA), SC Joint Spokesperson Devendra Dhakal confirmed.

Earlier, the hearing of the cases could not proceed smoothly after the protests of the SC Justices. However, the SC Justices rejoined their duty after the full court meeting decided to determine the cases from lottery system from December 1.

Though the SC Justices rejoined their office, the protest from the Nepal Bar is unhindered, affecting the hearing of the cases.

According to Dhakal, hearing is affected as the legal practitioners remain absent at the SC bench from 10:00 to 12:00 am every day.
