Nepal was, is and will remain a Hindu nation: BJP leader Shastri

KATHMANDU: India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Bizay Sonkar Shastri has said that Nepal is, was and will remain a Hindu nation for long.

“Nepal was, is and will remain a Hindu nation,” Shastri told media in Pokhara where he is attending several events.

He was of the view that though the constitution of Nepal calls it a secular nation, the social fabric here says it is a Hindu nation. “The constitution is one thing. Constitution governs the administrative system. But, the social system is to run from the social fabric. Looking at the social fabric, one cannot say that it is not a Hindu nation,” said Shastri.

Dr. Shastri arrived in Nepal on November 16 and traveled to Kathmandu, Janakpur and Pokhara to participate in various programs related to Hinduism.
