Five NC cadres injured in clash in Rupandehi



BUTWAL: A clash broke out between the two factions of the Nepali Congress (NC) in Rupandehi during the counting of votes under the 14th General Convention.

Five NC cadres have been injured in the clash.

A clash took place between NC cadres at the polling station of Siddharthnagar Municipality, Bhairahawa last night.

A group of youths suddenly attacked Puran Shrestha, close to senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel faction after he took the lead in the counting.

Poudel’s regional secretary candidate Shailesh Pant was seriously injured in the attack.

The injured are undergoing treatment at Lumbini Provincial Hospital, Butwal, said Puran Shrestha.
