Incessant-rain triggered floods disrupt eight roads



KATHMANDU: The incessant-rain-triggered floods have obstructed eight different roads across the country.

The Pushpalal Highway, Dumre-Beshishahar-Chame Road, Rapti Highway among others were flooded thereby leading to a shutdown of traffic movement on these roads, according to the Department of Roads.

Hilepani-Jayaramghat Halesi road section under the Pushpalal Highway in Okhaldhunga, Akkare Bhir under the Khurkot-Ghurmi road section in Sindhuli district and Solukhola area have been obstructed by the flood.

The road sections leading to Nigalghari, Khotro, and Danakyu along the Dumre-Beshisahar-Chamre in Manang district remain hindered due to flood.

In Bajhang, Khodpe-Chainpur Road, Dhangadi-Sahajpur-Budar road and Satbajh-Thaktoli-Darchula-Tinkar road has been blocked since last Tuesday.

Similarly, in Kalikot, Dhungeshwor-Satkhamba-Dullu-Pipalkot-Khulal-Manma-Naga-Jumla road has been obstructed.

Of the 12 blocked roads, four were already reopened after clearing off the debris and carrying out necessary maintenance.
