Women Football: Nepal slips one rank down in FIFA ranking

KATHMANDU: The women’s national team of Nepal has slipped down by one position in FIFA ranking.

In a FIFA ranking made public on Friday, Nepal has dropped one position to reach at 101 place. Earlier, it was in 100th position.

The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has relegated Nepal’s women’s football team to the new rankings.

However, Nepal is ranked twenty-first in Asia and second in the South Asian rankings.

India, which holds 57th position in the world ranking, is ahead of Nepal in South Asia.

According to FIFA, United States has been at the top position to be followed by Sweden and Germany which rank second and third respectively.

The Nepali women’s team has been unable to play international games for a long time.
