KATHMANDU: Two rifting factions of CPN-UML led by party Chairman KP Oli and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal are holding separate meetings with the leaders siding with them on Tuesday.

According to UML sources, chairman Oli faction is holding a Central Committee meeting at Tulsi Lal Amatya Foundation building Chyasal whereas Khanal-Nepal faction is holding its meeting at Aryal Hotel in New Baneswor.

Monday’s CC meeting of the Oli faction had decided to seek clarification from the leaders disobedient to party whip.

Although the meeting had given 24 hours for the submission of the clarification, leaders of Khanal-Nepal faction claimed that they have not received any letter or message till Tuesday morning.

Khanal-Nepal faction leaders, who defy the authenticity of the CC meeting labelling it “unilateral”, have said that there is no reason to submit the clarification sought by the ‘illegal committee.’

Oli faction’s meet is likely to take action against 22 lawmakers who disobeyed party whip.
