India reports less than 60,000 new Covid-19 cases after nearly 80 days



NEW DELHI: India’s active coronavirus caseload has declined to 7,29,243, while the country’s recovery rate now stands at 96.27 percent.

The weekly positivity rate has remained below 5 percent and is currently at 3.43 percent, according to India Today.

The daily positivity rate is at 3.22 percent, less than 5 percent for 13 consecutive days, it said.

India registered 58,419 new coronavirus cases and 1,576 fatalities due to the infection in the last 24 hours, according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The country registered less than 60,000 daily cases after 81 days, reports said.
