17 killed in natural disasters in a week

KATHMANDU: Seventeen people lost their lives in different natural disasters that occurred across the country in a week. Of them, 10 are males, 4 women, and three children.

According to police headquarters, of the killed ones in the disasters, three each from Sindhupalchowk, and Doti, and one each from Saptari, Kavre, Gorkha, Jumla, Arghakhanchi, Palpa, Kaski, Kalikot, Bajura, Bajhang, and Pyuthan.

Similarly, 22 people have gone missing in the landslides, floods, and inundation in the country. Police added that of the total gone missing, 20 are from Sindhupalchowk and one each from Bajura and Rupandehi.

Five are males, 5 female, and two children among those gone missing. Likewise, 17 people are injured in natural disasters across the country. Police shared that 109 people who were at high risk were rescued in the same period in the country.

It is stated that rescue and search operation was underway in the country as the monsoon related incidents were on rising in the country of late. The total loss caused by natural disasters is estimated at over 410 million rupees in the country.
