Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll reaches 5,847 with 190 new fatalities

KATHMANDU: As many as 190 COVID-19 patients have reportedly succumbed to the coronavirus pandemic in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the new deaths have taken the country’s death toll to 5,847 as of Sunday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Nepal recorded a total of 8,305 new cases of coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 8,227 persons have tested positive for COVID-19 through the RT-PCR method while 78 have been tested positive through the Antigen method.

According to the Ministry, 2600 persons in Kathmandu, 403 in Lalitpur, and 229 in Bhaktapur have been tested positive for the pandemic virus, making the capital valley’s fresh coronavirus cases 3,232 in past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 6,543 persons have returned home after complete health recovery from COVID-19.
