Immigration services for foreigners leaving Nepal to continue from TIA



KATHMANDU: The Department of Immigration will issue visas to foreigners departing from Nepal, among other services, from the Immigration Office at Tribhuvan International Airport at the time of departure during the prohibitory period  enforced to contain the coronavirus pandemic.

Meanwhile, Immigration Department has shut down all services, except essentials, from Thursday. Earlier, the department was functioning by reducing office hours.

According to the department, the work related to the facilitation of departure of foreigners stranded in Nepal during this period will be regular. The work related to the deportation of foreigners who are within the jurisdiction of the Department of Immigration/Prisons and other bodies will also be regular.

The department will also continue regular work related to the departure of foreigner passport holding Nepal-born children during this period.

Foreigners residing in Nepal can avail themselves services without any fee or penalty for one week after the prohibitory ban is lifted.

The department has requested service seekers to contact the department for other services such as an extension of visa, travel permit, among others.
