CPN-UML Standing Committee meeting underway at Baluwatar

KATHMANDU: The Standing Committee meeting of the ruling CPN-UML is underway at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar.

Party office secretary Sher Bahadur Tamang said the meeting is holding discussions on the vote of confidence that the government has to get from parliament, review of the National Assembly election, and the contemporary political issues.

Prime Minister KP Oli and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal had earlier formed a task force to resolve disputes within the UML. However, the task force has met only once.

The task force, which had only three days to furnish suggestions to address the disputes, held only one meeting during its tenure.

The task force meeting scheduled for Thursday was postponed at the last minute.

Today’s meeting has been called keeping in view the by-election of the National Assembly.
