Newly-appointed ministers of Gandaki province get portfolios



POKHARA: The newly-appointed minsters of Gandaki Province received their portfolios. Province Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung had expanded the Council of Ministers on Wednesday.

As per the decision, Kiran Gurung has been entrusted with the responsibility of Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning while Deepak Manange has been appointed as the Minster for Youth and Sports.

Other appointees however had taken the oath of office as the Minister without portfolio. After the portfolio division, Chief Minister Gurung took charge of the Ministry of Health and Population.

Likewise, Minster Kiran Gurung has been delegated with additional responsibilities to look after the Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives.

Minister Ramsharan Basnet has been designated as a Minister for Physical Infrastructure, Town Development and Transport, Energy, Hydropower and Drinking Water, Law, Communications and Province Affairs.

Naradevi Pun has been provided with the responsibilities of Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology and Social Development while Bikas Lamsal has been designated as the Minster for Tourism, Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Forest, Environment and Soil Conservation.
