Qatari bills will not be exchanged after April 10: NRB

KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has issued a public notice urging the public to exchange Qatari bills in circulation within May 10.

Issuing a notice on Tuesday, NRB has notified all that the fourth edition of the Qatari riyal bills currently in circulation,  will not be exchanged after May 10 as Qatar is about to withdraw them.

“As the Central Bank of Qatar has decided not to issue banknotes in circulation from July 1, we request all people holding them to get them exchanged by May 10,” the NRB stated, adding, “NRB will not be under any obligations to change such banknotes if produced for exchange after the stipulated time.”

Qatar’s central bank is about to introduce new bills.
