Will Maoist Center decide to withdraw govt support in today’s SC meeting?

KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Center) is holding a Standing Committee (SC) meeting on Tuesday.

The SC meeting to be held at 1 pm at Paris Danda in Koteshwor will dwell on the withdrawal of the support to the incumbent government and the latest political developments among other issues, said Maoist Center leader Devendra Paudel.

The SC meeting today is likely to decide on the withdrawal of the party’s support to the Oli-led government, according to Paudel.

The Maoist Center will chart out a future strategy in the new context created after the President ended the winter session of the federal parliament at a time when the preparations were underway to file a no confidence motion against Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Monday.

The SC meeting called for 1 pm on Monday had been postponed till 1 pm today due to the busy schedule of the leaders.

It had been said that yesterday’s meeting was called to withdraw the support given by the Maoist Center to the government.

The Maoist Center has been saying that the support given to the government could not be withdrawn as other opposition parties have not reached a decision for a new power-sharing.
