Not in the race for PM, yet will bear the responsibility if needed: NC President Deuba

CHITWAN: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that he is not in the race for the post of Prime Minister, yet would fulfill the responsibility if it comes to his shoulder.

Addressing a program organized to mark the 11th death anniversary of Girija Prasad Koirala in Chitwan, he remarked that he is not vying for the post of PM, but would bear the responsibility.

“I am not contesting for the post of PM; however, I will not run away if the burden of responsibility comes to me,” Deuba said in the program.

The NC President said that his party believes in the conscience of the people and respects their choice.

“People are sovereign, and we accept the mandate of the people,” he said ahead, claiming, “No power can prevent the NC from getting the two-thirds majority, provided the party goes to the people united.”

He urged NC leaders to make the schedule of visiting the constituencies at least three times a year.
