Disgruntled Nepal-Khanal faction reaches Baluwatar with letter

KATHMANDU: Lawmakers close to the ruling CPN-UML’s disgruntled Nepal-Khanal faction have reached Baluwatar with their written explanation for abstaining from the Parliamentary Party (PP) meeting called by Prime Minister and party Chair KP Oli Saturday.

According to UML sources, lawmakers, including Jivan Ram Shreshtha, Som Pandey and Yagya Raj Sunuwar, have gone to Baluwatar with their written ‘protest’ explaining their reason for not attending the PP meeting today.

They have demanded that the meetings and the decisions taken under the party’s banner should be in accordance with the party constitution and statutes.

Leaders belonging to the disgruntled faction have objected to the formation of the Parliamentary Party Board without drafting the statute to guide it.

They have reminded that UML’s PP meeting has always been held in the PP office in Singhdurbar.

The Nepal Khanal faction has abstained from today’s PP meeting.
