PM Oli says Nepal-Khanal faction deserves action

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairperson and Prime Minister KP Oli has said that senior party leaders Madhav Kumar Khanal and Jhala Nath Khanal need to face action.

Addressing a meeting of the CPN-UML parliamentary party in Baluwatar on Saturday, Oli said that as Nepal and Khanal  are involved in the party split, an action will be taken against them.

PM Oli said there was no alternative to take action against the leaders who were holding separate meetings.

“We are preparing the groundwork for the method and methodology for taking action against them,” he said, adding, “Those who promote faction interest in the party will be duly punished.”

During the meeting, Oli urged influential leader Bamdev Gautam not to make a fuss about unity.

“You must have known who is for and who is against the party unity,” Chairman Oli spoke about Bamdev’s concern, “They do not want to stay in UML. How can the party move forward as one with those who work against the party itself?”

He advised Bamdev Gautam to stop advocating for the heterogenous unity.
