CPN-UML holding PP and CC meets at Baluwatar today



KATHMANDU: Ruling CPN-UML is holding Parliamentary Party (PP)  and Central Committee (CC) meetings on Saturday. The meeting will begin at Baluwatar 10:30 am.

A meeting of the Parliamentary Party held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar formed a 27-member PP Board on Thursday.

The Board was formed as per the legal provision to decide whether a lawmaker violating the party norms be taken disciplinary action.

The meeting also nominated Madhav Nepal and Jhala Nath Khanal to the 27-member Parliamentary Party (PP) Board.

The Board led by Prime Minister KP Oli nominated Nepal, Khanal, and Deputy Leader Subash Nemwang, among others.

Similarly, Sher Bahadur Tamang, Raghubir Mahaseth, Bhupendra Thapa, Khem Lohani, Sarita Dahal, and Bimala BK were also nominated as members.

Likewise, Chief Whip Bishal Bhattarai, Whip Shanta Chaudhary, Suman Pyakurel, Bimala Rai Poudel, Binda Pandey, Radha Gyawali, Damodar Bhandari, Bidya Bhattarai, Rekha Jha, Narad Muni Rana, Mohan Baniya, and Rajendra Rai are also in the Board.

Likewise, the meeting had also formed a task force to amend the party statute.

The task force consists of Bishal Bhattarai, Sher Bahadur Tamang and Bimala Rai Poudyal.

Meanwhile, the meeting had also instructed party leaders not to hold any factional meetings, warning that it would be compelled to take necessary action against leaders holding factional meetings.

The meeting had also urged the disgruntled leaders to participate in party meetings and programs and undergo self-criticism for their past activities.
