Mercury continues to dip; Kathmandu’s temperature 3.4 degree Celsius

KATHMANDU: With the temperature plummeting across the country of late, meteorologists have urged people to take necessary precautions.

According to Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD), the temperature has decreased partly due to the westerly low-pressure system.

The minimum temperature of the Kathmandu Valley has been recorded at 3 degrees Celsius Sunday morning.

Jumla has recorded minus 6 degrees Celsius — the lowest temperature in the country today.

According to the MFD, the minimum temperature at Dadeldhura was 2 degrees Celsius, Birendranagar 2.9 degrees Celsius, Jumla minus 6 degrees Celsius, Pokhara 5.8 degrees Celsius, Taplejung 4.2 degrees Celsius and Okhaldhunga 5.6 degrees Celsius.

On Sunday afternoon, the weather will be partly cloudy in the hilly areas of the country and generally clear in the rest of the region.

Similarly, the night will be partly cloudy in the hilly areas of Province 1 and the weather will be generally clear in the rest of the country, it said.
