Four highways in Gandaki and Sudurpaschim provinces blocked due to floods, landslips



KATHMANDU: Floods and landslides triggered by incessant rains have disrupted four highways in Gandaki and Sudurpaschim provinces.

According to the National Emergency Operations Center under the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Beni-Mustang Highway in Gandaki Province has been blocked. Vehicular movement along the highway has been halted at Ghumaunibhir in Beni Rural Municipality-4 of Myagdi since Tuesday.

Similarly, the Bhimdatta Highway has been blocked due to landslide in Bhasubhir, Chure Rural Municipality-5 of Kailali in Sudurpaschim Province. The highway has not been in operation since Monday. Likewise, the same highway has been completely blocked by a landslide since Monday in Jorayal Rural Municipality-1 of Doti district.

Similarly, a landslide in Dunibhavar of Chaurpati Rural Muncipality-6 of Achham has blocked Chaukhute-Achham-Bajura road section since Monday.

The Jaya Prithvi Highway at Nadigauda in Kedar-Shyu Rural Municipality-1 of Bajhang has also been affected due to floods.
