Rainy weather forecast until Wednesday with chances of snowfall in highlands

KATHMANDU: The Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has said the rain will continue throughout the day even today with chances of snowfall in high hilly and mountainous regions.

Currently, the weather is generally cloudy in most parts of the country with light to moderate rain occurring. Pradesh 1 and Sudurpashchim Pradesh are witnessing rains, currently.

Issuing a weather bulletin on Tuesday morning, the MFD said light to moderate rain will occur in many parts of Pradesh 1, 2, Lumbini Pradesh, Karnali and Sudurpashchim and in some parts of Bagmati and Gandaki Pradesh. Similarly, light to moderate snowfall is forecast in high hilly and mountainous regions of the country.

Light to moderate snowfall is expected throughout the country tonight, according to the MFD. Likewise, heavy rain is likely to occur in a few places of Pradesh 1, Lumbini Pradesh and in one or two places of Bagmati, Gandaki and Sudurpashchim.

The rain will also continue tomorrow and subside from Thursday, according to the Division.

The low-pressure weather system developed in the Bay of Bengal and the central part of India are having an impact on the weather system of Nepal.
