Driver killed, eight passengers injured in bus accident



KATHMANDU: A bus driver has died and eight passengers have been injured in a bus accident along the Hetauda-Pathlaiya road section Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Dharmaraj Regmi, 49, of Hetauda, Makawanpur. He died at Chure Hill Hospital while undergoing treatment, said Bara police.

The bus en route Rautahat from Kathmandu collided with a motorcycle following brake failure and turned turtle on the road.

Motorcycle rider Indra Bahadur Karki, 35, of Hetauda suffered minor injury whereas one of the eight injured is in critical condition. The rest are receiving treatment at Orthopedic Hospital, Hetauda.
