UML Chair Oli asks Speaker Sapkota to choose over being Speaker or party cadre

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli has asked Speaker of the House of Representatives Agni Sapkota to make a choice between two things: being the Speaker or a party cadre.

He expressed fury against Speaker Sapkota saying the Speaker had been delaying dismissal of 14 lawmakers even as the UML wrote to him three days ago.

Recalling the Speaker saying he was still looking at the documents, Oli said, “The Speaker is not a judge, he needs to paste the notice.”

The UML chair also warned the Speaker not to work against his party acting as a Maoist cadre.

UML Chairman Oli questioned Speaker Sapkota whether he wanted the parliament, and whether he wanted to be the Speaker or not.
