UML leader Jhankri warns to sue in contempt of court case

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML central committee member and lawmaker Ram Kumari Jhankri has said that the explanation sought against them for disobeying the party whip on Sunday’s parliamentary session is meaningless and the lawmakers would sue on contempt of court case against the establishment if it takes action against them.

“The explanation letter has no meaning,” she said on Monday, “ We won’t abide by the decisions made by ‘illegal’ committees, rather we will sue on the contempt of court case if the establishment takes action against us.”

Earlier, in its central committee meeting held at Tulsi Lal Amatya Foundation, Chyasal, Lalitpur, Chairman Oli faction had decided to seek explanation within 24 hours for disobeying party whip and giving vote of confidence to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.

22 UML lawmakers had cast vote in PM Deuba’s favor yesterday.

Lawmaker Jhakri said that they would not respond to the explanation sought by the CC meeting and warned that the lawmakers would sue the establishment faction provided they took action for giving vote to PM Deuba.
