KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has inaugurated the inoculation program by handing over the vaccines to the health-workers at Khagendra Nawajeewan Center in Jorpati, Kathmandu on Monday.

Inaugurating the vaccination program, Prime Minister Deuba said the inoculation against the COVID-19 is the top priority of the government.

The Johnson & Johnson vaccine, received from the United States, is being administered to the citizens in different parts of the country today, the Ministry of Health and Population has said.

One million and five hundred thousand doses of Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines donated by the United States of America (USA) had arrived in Nepal on July 12.

According to the US Embassy in Nepal, this vaccine requires only one shot to be fully vaccinated — meaning 1.5 million people will soon be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in Nepal.
