CPN-UML holding Central Committee meeting today

Likely to take action against its lawmakers who voted for PM Deuba

KATHMANDU: A Central Committee (CC) meeting of the CPN-UML is taking place today.

The CC meeting will take place at Tulsi Lal Memorial Foundation in Cyasal, Lalitpur, said Sher Bahadur Tamang, the secretary of the UML Central Party Office.

The CC meeting will dwell on the latest political developments and the intra-party dispute of the UML. Today’s meeting will also discuss taking action against those UML lawmakers who voted in favor of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.

Earlier on Friday, a Standing Committee (SC) meeting decided to dissolve the UML Dispute Resolution Task-Force after endorsing its 10-point agreement.

The SC meeting had also decided to stage protests against the decision of the Supreme Court across the nation.

UML has become the main opposition after the Supreme Court reinstated the House of Representatives (HoR) and appointed Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba as the Prime Minister of Nepal through the mandamus.

The intra-party dispute of the UML has taken a new height after UML lawmakers of Nepal-Khanal faction voted for Prime Minister Deuba.
