Government recognizes PCR reports of 22 private hospitals for foreign trips

KATHMANDU: The government has decided to approve for foreign trips the RT- PCR test reports for COVID-19 issued by 22 private hospitals.

The Ministry of Health and Population is to recognize the PCR test reports to be produced by all the government-run labs and 22 private hospitals for foreign travel. Those private health institutions are Grande International, Kantipur, Hams, Star, Kathmandu Medical College, Nepal Mediciti, B&B, Alka, Kantipur Dental, Janamaitri, Nepal Medical College, Nepalgunj Medical College, Chitwan Medical College, and Lumbini Medical College.

Similarly, tests to be conducted at National Medical College, Universal Medical College Bhairahawa, Manmohan Memorial, Kathmandu University Medical College, Dhulikhel, Nobel Medical College Biratnagar, Neurocardio Hospital Biratnagar, Birat Medical College Biratnagar and Leprosy Mission Nepal Hospital, Lalitpur are to be endorsed by the government for abroad trips.

Ministry Spokesperson Dr Samir Kumar Adhikari said other private health facilities meeting the criteria will be recognized gradually.
