Rastriya Janamorcha to support alliance candidate Pandey in NA by-election from Lumbini

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Janamorcha is set to support National Assembly (NA) by-election candidate Drignayaran Pandey from Lumbini Province. The by-election for NA from Lumbini is slated for May 31.

Pandey is the common candidate of Nepali Congress (NC), CPN-Maoist Center and Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) for NA by-election from Lumbini Province.

Issuing a press statement Wednesday, Rastriya Janamorcha Chairman Chitra Bahadur KC said the party would support any other force that tries to emerge as an alternative to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and urged people’s representatives and Lumbini Province Assembly members elected from the party to cast vote for Pandey.

He also stated that the party extended support to alliance candidate Khim Lal Devkota, who is contesting the NA by-election from Bagmati Province Thursday, though the party doesn’t have any voters in Bagmati.

The NA seat is vacant after Chandra Bahadur Khadka, a lawmaker elected from the CPN (Maoist Center), joined the CPN-UML in Lumbini Province. Khadka is fielded from the UML in the election.
