Four Ministers take oath of office in Gandaki Province



KATHMANDU: Four newly appointed Ministers have taken the oath of office and secrecy in Gandaki Province Wednesday.

Gandaki Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung expanded his cabinet today.

Governor Sita Poudel administered the oath of office to Minister of Financial Affairs and Planning Kiran Gurung, Ministers Bikash Lamsal, Ram Sharan Basnet and Nardevi Pun. The latter three are without a ministry portfolio as of now. Youth and Sports Minister Rajiv Gurung alias Deepak Manange was not present at the swearing-in ceremony.

Earlier, Basnet held the portfolio of Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development, Bikash Lamsal the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forest & Environment, and Pun held the Ministry of Social Development.

After CM Gurung split the Ministry of Social Development to offer Rajiv Gurung Youth and Sports Ministry, the number of ministries in the province now stands at eight.
