Ophthalmologist Karki succumbs to coronavirus

KATHMANDU: Professor Dr. Pujyashree Karki has passed away Wednesday.

Ophthalmologist Karki, who was undergoing treatment for coronavirus at Norvic International Hospital in Thapathali, Kathmandu, died today.

According to Badri Rijal, general secretary of Nepal Medical Association, Dr. Karki was an honest, diligent, loyal and reputed ophthalmologist.

Karki had been serving as the head of the Department of Ophthalmology at KIST Medical College, Gwarko, for the past 13 years. She was also the executive member of the Nepal Ophthalmic Society from 2018 to 2020.
