Four JSP leaders in Lumbini Cabinet asked to resign and furnish explanation

KATHMANDU: Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Lumbini province committee has sought 24-hour clarification from four of its lawmakers who took the oath of office as Ministers earlier Monday.

JSP Lumbini province committee Chairman Ashok Kumar Yadav, issuing a press release Monday evening, has asked Ministers Bijay Yadav, Santosh Pandey, Suman Rayamajhi and Kalpana Pandey to resign and furnish a satisfactory explanation for their decision.

In case they fail to do so, the provincial lawmakers will be suspended from the party and will lose their seat in the province assembly, according to JSP province committee.

Three of the four newly-appointed Ministers earlier in the day were part of a signature campaign to file no-confidence motion against Lumbini Chief Minister Shankar Pokharel. But within hours they changed camp and were sworn in as Ministers.
